We specialize in caring for mothers during pregnancy and childbirth. It also provides care for newborn infants, and may act as a centre for clinical training in midwifery and obstetrics.

NICU/SCU

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit specializes in the treatment of newborns. NICU has trained professionals to provide specialized care for the preterm and term babies requiring the care. Most babies admitted to NICU are:

  • Premature born before 37 weeks gestation
  • Have low birth weight less than 2 kgs
  • Have medical condition that requires specialized care.eg respiratory support for very sick babies.

Special care unit is equipped to stabilize babies born with medical conditions which require special treatment such as jaundice. Also those that require routine medical care including assessment and new born screening. Full term babies that require close monitoring and those with intravenous antibiotics after birth and are left behind by the mothers.
