A) What are the visiting Hours at Mater Hospital?

Monday to Sunday

Morning Hours: 11:30AM -1:30PM

Evening Hours: 4:30PM – 7:30PM

N.B. Children less than 10 Years not allowed in the wards

B) What is the outpatient process at the hospital?

All patients coming to be treated need to report to counter 1 at the casualty.

C) Is there a deposit required by Mater hospital for a patient during admission?

Yes. Please call admission desk on (020)6903057, (020)6903058

D) How can I find out what ward my patient is in?

Kindly enquire at the main reception.


E) How does one become a beneficiary of the Mater Heart Run program?

  1. The child has to be suffering from a confirmed cardiac related ailment either congenital or acquired.
  2. She/he has to be 18 years and below
  3. She/he has to be from an economically challenged background
  4. A Cardiac evaluation has to be done on the patient
  5. The report has to be presented to a joint cardiac team that determines if the patient is operable or not.
  6. Families are requested to contribute a certain percentage towards the procedure and the balance is catered by the funds from the Mater heart Run.

F) What are the modes of payments in Mater?

Insurance (as mentioned below) and cash. (Visa, Mastercard, EFT)

 H) Is NHIF Card accepted in Mater?

YES it is and the rate is 1800/= per day given upon issuing relevant documents


I) How long does your discharge process take?

The discharge process starts when the doctors issue a discharge summary and it takes 2 hours.

The process takes place between 9AM and 3PM everyday.


J) Can one purchase drugs from the pharmacy with an external prescription?         

YES


K) What are the hours of operation of mater’s pilot lines?

   They are manned 24 hours daily
