Together We Create a Special World!

The Mater Hospital was founded in 1962 by Sisters of Mercy, it was converted to a non-profit Trust and the Sisters continue to oversee the administration of the hospital as Trustees. By virtue of its origin and its continuing inspiration, The Mater Hospital philosophy is founded in a devout concern for social justice and the poor.
With unique and creative medical programmes - such as The Mater Cardiac Programme, The Mater Cancer Screening Programme and The Mater HIV/ VCT Programme - the hospital reaches out to those who are in need and helps restore hope and joy where there is great uncertainty and fear.
Urgent Projects
-
The Mater Cardiac Programme
Sadly, 50% of children aged between 4 and 8 years seen at the Cardiology Clinics suffer from rheumatic heart disease, subsequent to rheumatic fever that originated from a simple sore throat.
We need your help to treat and prevent these unnecessary tragedies.
-
The Mater Cancer Screening & Awareness Camps
are a commitment to avail early detection of breast and prostate cancer for those in need.
Our cancer screening and awareness camps demystify and avail adequate information on cancer and provide free screening services to those who cannot afford.
Help us to save more lives in supporting the further extension of these outreach initiatives.
